The PCI card, model 3PCISD2A, offers most every option possible in a 2-port serial card. Model 3PCISD2A is plug and play. Each port can be independently configured for RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 data protocol. The Quadruple Clock Speed option is included, allowing baud rates up to 460.8kbps baud. The 3PCISD series will support data rates to 460.8kbps baud in all modes. Enhanced Address Decoding is included, plus IRQ sharing capability to minimize hardware conflict potential.
The Automatic Send Data Control circuit takes the hassle out of RS-485 programming. All you have to do is send data out the port. The card handles the enabling and disabling of the transmitter. This feature works regardless of the operating system or program that you are running. This card uses the 16550A UART. The 3PCISD series comes with driver files for Windows 95/98/SE/ME/2000/XP and NT 4.0. XP will use the .inf and .sys files on the disk to install and configure the standard XP drivers for the card and ports.
